ADOL: Adolescent
Directory On Line
Adolescence Directory On-Line (ADOL) is an electronic guide to information
on adolescent issues. It is a service of the Center for Adolescent Studies at
Indiana University. Educators, counselors, parents, researchers, health
practitioners, and teens can use ADOL to find Web resources for a number topics.
Kid Power
Kid Power is part of FULLPOWER International, which is a nonprofit organization
teaching violence deterrence, self-protection, confidence, building skills, and
full force self-defense to people of all ages. Workshops are offered for
children ages 4-18 and their parents.
The National Campaign To Prevent
Teen Pregnancy
Provides useful information and tips for parents and teens on the problem of
teen pregnancy and how to prevent it.
National Runaway
Switchboard
The National Runaway Switchboard operates a confidential hotline for runaway
youth, teens in crisis, and concerned friends and family members. All services
are free and available 24 hours every day. Over 250,000 people have used NRS
services in 1997 and 1998. Toll Free Number 1-800-621-4000
Raising Today's Teens
Raising Today's Teens is a project of the Marion Foundation, a nonprofit
organization that strives to improve communications and relationships among
youth and parents by implementing innovative programs that address the social,
emotional, and educational issues of our society. It is a telephone support
center and a private and confidential Internet counseling service open to anyone
parenting a teen.
Tough Love
A TOUGHLOVE® Parent Support Group is a self-help, active, parent support
group for parents troubled by their children's behavior. Many are parents of
teen-aged children, but also there are parents of preteens, parents of adult
children, and grandparents. There are over 500 parent support groups affiliated
with TOUGHLOVE ®
