Tuesday Eating Disorders Chat Conference

Are you dealing with anorexia or bulimia? Maybe you have a daughter or son, sister or brother, wife or husband with an eating disorder? Or a friend or co-worker?

You need to join us this Tuesday night (May 8). We're going to get to the bottom of what really causes an eating disorder (hint: it's not models in ads) and what it takes to recover.

Our guest is Aimee Liu, author of the new book "Gaining: The Truth About Eating Disorders." Aimee suffered from severe anorexia as a teen, thought she had recovered, then faced a severe relapse in her 40s. Now she says "I’m fully recovered."

She'll talk about her personal experiences and maybe, more importantly, what she found out through interviewing the top eating disorders researchers and treatment professionals in the world. What Aimee has to say could very well help you or your loved one.

The chat starts at 9 pm Eastern, 8 pm Central, 7 pm Mountain, 6 pm Pacific (-4 GMT). There is no charge to participate and our guest will be taking your personal questions.

The chat link is here and if you don't have a username/password, just click the "register" link on top of the page.

The transcript for our last chat on "Overcoming Explosive Anger" is here.

"Siblings of the Disabled - It Isn't Easy"

lilsis:

"My sister was born with Cerebral Palsy (we're both adults now) and throughout our years growing up, I had little if no support. My parents did their best to give me the attention I needed however, friends, family? No such luck! They didn't know or didn't want to know. So - after 35 yrs of having no-one to talk to about this, I decided that I might as well do something about it.

I would love to make contact with others who have disabled siblings - no matter how old you are. I'd love to hear about your experiences and I'd love to share with you my experiences of having a sibling with disabilities.
